"El Cantante" is synonymous with salsa. The movie was a nice tribute but didn't show how much his music connected with his fans and his peers. He was highly respected because of the songs he chose to sing and the soulful way he sang them. This tribute is mostly on the dance tip. I didn't get into his boleros or romantic songs much even though he pulled it off with ease. I could've continued playing his music for days since he put out alot of great music but I tried to condense it therefore some songs were left out. Maybe a part 2. is down the road. Anyway I enjoyed taking the trip I hope you do too. Like what you hear? Take the time and donate using the paypal button on my podcast page.
